At Getaway magazine, my role as digital editor entailed controlling the quality of content on all platforms, going out to over 500 000 combined followers. Apart from running our editorial content calendar, this involved conceptualising and rolling out digital campaigns, including promotions for newsstand sales, competitions, and events.
At the award-winning John Brown Media agency in Cape Town, I pitched and developed innovative campaigns using social media, newsletters, micro-sites and Facebook Canvases.
For Pick n Pay’s Easter campaign, we created an interactive Facebook canvas of 12 recipes, allowing readers to swipe and select to create their own custom menu.
I created and implemented the social campaign for this digital-first photo competition, where readers submitted photos from the natural world in urban spaces to win Canon gear.
Going out to more than 20 000 subscribers, Supper Sorted achieves an average gross open rate of 70%. The newsletter has repeatedly won gold in the “Best of Email” category at the Content Council’s Pearl Awards.
I created and implemented the digital strategy for this competition, creating thousands of impressions for BFGoodrich.
Some of my favourite work involves conceptualising, pitching and directing food videos — many of the examples below are from Hot Cross Bun Week, for Pick n Pay’s Easter campaign.
I’m a freelance journalist, a digital editor, and a lover of pretzels. While my editorial work usually focuses on travel and food, I work with clients across a wide range of industries in social media and content strategy, from NGOs to finance.
